Even before the concerted squeeze on physical money due to the pandemic the use of notes and coins had been reducing markedly over recent years as many people switched to making contactless payments, buying online or using their phones to make all their day to day purchases. As has been widely reported the plight of homeless people sleeping rough has been made increasingly tough due to fewer and fewer people actually carrying change to give.

AnyChange seeks to enable homeless people to receive donations that members of the public can make via their phones if they don’t have any loose change to give or would rather than interact physically.
